MurPHOTO -- Mike Murphree
I have been involved with photography since 1965. I was a partner in a wedding and portrait studio and a freelancer for several years in north La. prior to going to work as a photographer for the Army Corps of Engr. in New Orleans. The opportunity for helicopter aerial photography was irresistible. After a stint in management of a visual information unit and the introduction of computer graphics, I moved into the information management arena doing IT work, including web development and maintenance. I never lost my passion for photography over the years; I jumped back in with both digital feet about 4 years ago. My primary interests are nature, portraiture, and aerial work. I love spending hours in the south Louisiana swamps stalking birds, otters, and alligators or just about anything wild. I use a peddle Hobie kayak to get in close to my subjects. New Orleans also offers a plethora of photographic subjects; wild life of a different sort, architecture, and history. I retired from the Corps in 2009 and I am now focusing on my photography passion full time. Thanks for visiting my website....enjoy!

Welcome to Windows to Nature and thanks for visiting my website!
John Sather has two passions in life: nature and photography. Through the artistry of his wildlife and landscape photography John shares his passion for the natural world in a dramatic yet, realistic style.
All of the wildlife images displayed on this website were photographed in the wild, no exceptions. The majority of John's wildlife images were photographed in northeastern Illinois, with the exception of his Florida Waterfowl gallery.
John's other photography interest is landscape photography. A couple of his favorite spots include the mountain regions of the western U.S. and the "northwood's" of the upper-midwest, particularly during the fall color change.
John and his wife, Sharyn, enjoy traveling and making new photographic discoveries so check back often for his latest images.
I sincerely thank you for stopping by and I hope sharing my photography has provided some enjoyable and eye-opening windows to nature!
