Irygirl, (Iraida A. Montijo) Dance Planet X's keyboardist, composer and producer combines traditional instrumentation and arrangements with a wide range of electronica, dance and downtempo grooves to complete what is Dance Planet X today. In addition to her extensive work with Dance Planet X, Irygirl has collaborated on many projects with several artists as well as producing her own compositions. Her ability for musical styles is very broad, having studied classical piano and working with a variety of genres including pop, electronica, dance remixes, hip-hop, boleros, salsa and merengue. Although primarily a keyboardist, she has the ability to play multiple instruments and enjoys teaching violin and soprano recorder. She comes from a family of musicians, and owes much of her inspiration to her father, a vocalist and guitarist. She holds a BA in Music Education and is a certified Music Teacher in the State of Florida.
