Our homemade caramels started over twenty years ago as a much anticipated once-a-year family tradition. The process for making these irresistible treats is extremely time consuming and labor intensive. So our Mom would put us all to bed and stay up until the wee hours of morning stirring, pouring and wrapping them by hand. My sister and I would then awake to the most delicious buttery-sweet smell in the air. As the snow slowly drifted outside, we would quickly run down the stairs to find these golden treasures waiting on the kitchen counter. Sure that they weren’t there just the night before, and knowing that something that melted in your mouth while at the same time producing a pure giggle; we knew this was no store bought treat. So my baby sister quite logically deduced that they were, of course, magically placed in our home by the caramel fairy. Most of our family and friends agreed it must be magic, for the caramels were too good to be anything less. Today, the tradition continues for our children. Due to constant and increasing requests, we’ve decided to share our caramel fairy (Grandma) with all of you. Simply place your order and a box of hand stirred, poured, and wrapped golden treasures will show up on your door step... As if by magic! Enjoy :)
