European schools for a living planet
We started the this years cycle by the WWF Academy in Illmitz 2010: Do you want to take part in the next year cycle 2011/2012 ? Then please contact Danica Bauer (danica.bauer@wwf.at). In October 2010 62 European teachers and pupils participated in the kick-off event of the international school environment initiative „European Schools for a Living Planet” of WWF and ERSTE Foundation in Austria. Pupils and teachers from eight European countries gathered at the one-week pupil-teacher academy south-eastern of Vienna. Until the end of the school year the school teams will realize individual nature conservation projects addressing the topics „Ecological Footprint” and „Danube”. In June 2011 they will present their projects at the final event in Vienna. Over the last two school years great activities originated such as recycling action days together with municipalities, exhibitions, theatre plays and ‚pupils-teach-pupils’ campaigns.
