Welcome to Achilles Morin Photography Galleries. My name is actually Roger A. Morin, and I named the gallery after my grandfather. I am a university professor of finance and financial consultant by profession and have been a serious photographer for the past three years, specializing mainly in the area of landscape/nature photography. A casual encounter with Bryan Peterson’s best selling book Understanding Exposure was the spark that ignited my interest in photography. For several years, I have had the opportunity to learn and develop my own skills in numerous photo workshops with Bryan throughout the world. I am currently teaching photography courses in Georgia and Nova Scotia. Recently, I received first place awards in various arts/photo festivals and I am scheduled for a two-month exhibit of my work in Jekyll Island’s Art Association at Goodyear Cottage in 2011.
I believe in rather limited manipulation of images and prefer to let the camera speak for itself. I make very limited use of Photoshop. My treatment of images is largely limited to cropping plus some minor Adobe Lightroom adjustments. Occasionally in high contrast situations, I will resort to HDR techniques.
I am a member of several photo clubs and a member of NAPP. I can be reached at profmorin@mac.com

I create paintings characterized by vivid colors showing Montana and Arizona landscapes and flowers. My website allows me, happily, to share the brilliant interplay of color and light I see in nature with others.
