Sophia Eugene was founded in 2006 by Yong Zhang. Zhang began his fashion education in the family pattern making business in FuZhou, China. In 1991 he moved the business to New York City where he concentrated on perfecting his craft as a pattern maker. Zhang is very well respected in the industry for his eye and his impeccable attention to every detail. Zhang’s aspirations have long included designing his own line. So in 2006 he broke away from the family business inspired by his 15 years in NYC’s fashion world and Sophia Eugene was born. Sophia Eugene was named after Zhang’s son Eugene and daughter Sophia. The collection is produced exclusively in New York City using all 100% silks and high quality fabrics.
