Montana Aerie Sheep Ranch located near Great Falls is home to Tom & Anne Key. Moving to Montana in 1993 and having spent a decade researching ‘the uterine blood flow of the pregnant ewe’ we established a small flock of registered Columbia ewes, one ram and one llama. Over the past 17 years we have gradually increased our brood flock concentrating on conformation and wool quality (Tom) and pretty faces and mothering ability (Anne). We began buying good genetics from national buyers in 1999 and finally in 2007 participated in the Columbia National Show & Sale as consignors. Hiring Ron Dreher to work with us, not to mention shearing and fitting our sheep, took our flock to new heights. With our medical backgrounds (Tom takes care of high risk human pregnancies & Anne is a RN) we are very interested in genetics and producing high quality, solid bodied Columbias. In 2008 we added a small flock of Border Leicesters and have enjoyed their ‘smallness’ and gentle manner!
