Born in North Carolina, Michael Dana is one of the most diverse drummers and percussionist in Atlanta, regularly playing all styles of music from jazz to classical to world music.
He has performed with such artists as Ernie Watts, Marvin Stamm, Jon Fedchock, Danny Gottlieb, Mace Hibbard, Chris Crenshaw, Greg Giannoscoli, and Kathy Kosins. As a classical musician, he has performed with the Savannah, Central Florida, Valdosta, Columbus, and Brunswick Symphony Orchestras and with Albany Symphony Orchestra as principal percussionist. He has also given solo recitals performing works on marimba, vibraphone, timpani, and world perussion. He toured with the Valdosta State University Jazz Combo in St. Petersburg, Russia. His jazz group, The Michael Dana Group, has performed in such venues as The Montreux Jazz Festival Atlanta and The Jimmy Carter Presidental Library and Museum's Evening of Jazz.
Michael is also an educator. He is Head of Percussion Studies at LaGrange College and percussion teacher at Dekalb PATH Academy and at the Atlanta Music Academy. He has worked as clinician with drumlines through out the southeast.
He currently resides in Decatur, Georgia with his wife Amanda.

Pablo Ablanedo
Led by Argentinean composer / pianist Pablo Ablanedo, the Octet uses the unusual instrumentation of violin, trumpet, two reeds, guitar, piano, bass and drums to explore jazz forms through South American rhythms and styles. Cross-pollating Argentinean tango, zamba and chacarera with the jazz lineage of Bill Evans and Gil Evans and following the trace of Astor Piazzolla and Egberto Gismonti, Ablanedo's compositions include extensive writing passages but ample room for the improvisational skills of his talented group of musicians. Altogether, the sound is definitely jazz but distinctively Argentinean.
