BAR TABAC (718) 923 0918
Welcome to Bar Tabac!
Six years ago, a litlle frenchplace called Bar Tabac was opening its doors on Smith Street...Set in the heart of Cobble Hill, the hippest part of Brooklyn, this authentic Bistro de Quartier (Bar Tabac is the french version of an Irish Pub... and the only place where you can buy tobacco ib France!) has soon become a favorite hang out: the artfully aged environs, the all-French wine list, the bistro bites and the upbeat, loungey music sets the tone for the stylish crowd that soaks up the fast-paced bistro atmosphere into the wee hours.
As hip as it is old-France, BT offers its excellent fare to the background sounds of live jazz four times a week: the now famous brunches will bring you back to l'ancien temps with bands like the Baby Blue Orchids and the Mad Jazz Hatters to set the tone and guide you along the way...
On tuesdays, Stephane and his Gipsies steal the show, with an incredible mix of flamenco and old jazz tunes that more than often turn into jamming sessions late into the night...Come to Bar Tabac, and the steady French contingent is likely to recognize and greet you with a bonjour and a handshake after a few visits..

CAFE NOIR | 212 431 7910
Welcome to Cafe Noir!
Located in the heart of Soho, Cafe Noir, part bistro, part tapas bar, has fast become a favorite with the locals for the past decade. Cozy and intimate, Cafe Noir boasts a Mediterranean-style ambience and music that make it one of the nicest spot in the area.
On the extensive menu, fares range from North African couscous to Spanish tapas, with a side of French bistro ... which you can enjoy until 4am every day!
When the weather allows it, the front doors are flung open to the air; in cold nights, patrons find themselves tucked into rear booths, always enjoying the smooth tunes of the live bands or the resident DJs until the wee hours of the morning...
And Cafe Noir has also a true North African feel, the bar, tables and black and yellow checkered floor were brought over from a Paris bistro, and the antiques were carefully selected by Georges during one of his trips to Morocco, all generously contributing to the romantic - and authentic - atmosphere...
