Brogo: Brogo Permaculture Gardens
John Champagne is among Australia's foremost Permaculture Trainers.
He runs Permaculture Design Courses (PDC), Introduction to Permaculture weekends and provides Permaculture Consultancy for properties in Rural and Urban settings.
He also helps people make the personal journey Permaculture requires by empowering people to think creatively and practically together.
John Champagne embraces the great history of Permaculture, having it's roots in Australia through Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. He is a second generation Permaculturist because he learned the craft from the first wave of teachers and has been able to embrace the sweeping social changes of the 20th Century and readily perceive the future of society in the 21st Century with the massive challenges of peak oil, food security, transport, energy, health, housing and other elements of society we take for granted.
John Champagne initiated the South East Transition Towns project which now (in 2009) as a fledgling one year old group has spread from the NSW Border to Canberra. This Permaculture inspired world-wide movement is enabling communities to work together to solve the great questions of our time that only Permaculture, as a systemic thinking process, can address.
He spans across an often disparate activist network in the Permaculture community and is able to draw people together who may not have otherwise shared activities.
