The company''s principal, John Gardiner, has been doing business in Brazil since 1999 when he was an executive at America Online and opened AOL''s business operations there and managed business and corporate development. He registered the local AOL companies, set up offices, ensured compliance with labor, tax and licensing laws, and organized the company''s first local hires. He also hired the company''s local legal counsel and accountants. He localized all company agreements and ensured that the company''s intellectual property was registered and protected.
