Washington high school and graduated from Allen University where she received a B. A. Degree in Business Administration in 1967. In 1973, Mrs. Floyd received her Masters of Education from Clemson University. She holds certification as a Secondary School Guidance Counselor, and as a Secondary School Administrator. Her work history includes positions as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor, Attendance Supervisor, Career Evaluator, Assistant Principal, and Principal.
After the death of her husband, Gracie Floyd campaign for his vacant seat and was elected to finish his term on September 1999. She is currently in her fourth term on the Anderson County Council, serving Council District Two.
The mother of two sons, Gregory and Kenneth both of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Floyd is a member of several clubs and organizations including the following:
