Willow Mountain Mushrooms is a small mushroom farm owned and operated in the Ozark Mountains by Bob and Wendy Semyck. After 23 years growing mushrooms in the corporate arena Bob brought his young family to the Ozarks to start a new more sustainable life with their own mushroom farm. They grow their mushrooms without the benefit of chemicals or chlorine. They grow Portabella Mushrooms, White Button Mushrooms, Shiitake Mushrooms, Oyster Mushrooms, and Crimini Mushrooms. The Semycks also smoke and dry their Portabella Mushrooms and Oyster Mushrooms as well as just drying their Portabella Mushrooms, Shiitake Mushrooms, and Oyster Mushrooms.
They also have Naturally Grown/Organically Grown Vegetable Gardens. Specializing in Organically Growing Heirloom Tomatoes and Peppers, Heirloom Beans and Peas, Heirloom Squash and other Heirloom crops using as Bob says "The Pinch and Pray method"... pinching those nasty potato bugs off their organic 'just dug' potatoes and praying they don't come back. You can normally find the Semycks working in their mushroom farm or out in their gardens. When not there they are caring for their heirloom breed chickens, ducks, and goose, Royal Palm Turkeys, rabbits, Shetland Sheep, and UK Shetland Ponies.
They Semycks sell their Naturally Grown Mushrooms (fresh and dried) and Vegetables fresh at local farmers markets and online. You will also find their Naturally Grown Mushrooms and Heirloom Vegetables at select health food stores (MaMa Jeans in Springfield, MO; The Truck Patch in Mountain Home, AR) and a family operated produce stand in West Plains, MO called D & D Produce.
