Bella Tucker - Home
Bella Tucker is a 9 year old gymnast from Londonderry, New Hampshire who survived a near fatal infection which resulted in the amputation of all four of her limbs.· On Easter Sunday, 2010, Bella came down with Streptococcus Pneumonia Sepsis with DIC(disseminated intravascular coagulation).· Doctors gave little hope for this third graders survival, but after five days in a coma, she miraculously survived.· Unfortunately, her survival was not without significant cost.· The infection caused extensive tissue damage, and on April 27, 2010, Bella underwent the first of many operations to amputate her limbs.· Bella spent the next seven months at Children's Hospital Boston, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and is now on a long and difficult· road to recovery as she learns to live life to its fullest without her limbs.
