I don't set out to take photographs about one subject or another. I almost always have some kind of camera with me so I'm ready to capture what the world presents.
I'm attracted to life's little oddities. The extraordinary hidden in the ordinary: Maybe it's something out of place, a funny look, an old and forgotten artifact, or a quirky combination of things. Nothing lasts forever, change is ever present. Everything comes into being, blossoms, and then decays.
I've never liked explaining my work. Images move people in different ways. What I think it says may be, and most always is, very different from someone else. Hopefully it speaks for itself and moves the viewer in some way.
My work has been shown at the Fairfield Images 2009 & 2010 shows and has just been accepted for the 2011 show that runs May 1st - August 28th.
Some of my work is currently on display at City Lights Gallery in Bridgeport, CT until April 27th.
Anything I know or any skill I have developed is through self study, listening to others and having awareness of what is around me. Since the world is always presenting itself, listening to what it is saying is vital to capturing moods and moments.
My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience, but I've always loved black and white photography, particularly the work of Paul Strand. I find his work to be very meaningful and expressive. His photographs tell a good story. I hope mine do too.
