Todd Paholsky Gallery
I, Todd Paholsky, am the grandson of Stephen and Mary Paholsky (Father's side) and Melvin and Wanda Sponer (Mother's side).
On my Father's side (Richard Paholsky), my great grandfather Jan Pacholsky (August 25, 1873 - October 15, 1955) and Katerina Suchar (November 25, 1879 - May 14, 1916) emigrated to America sometime between 1900-1903. Jan came from Helcmanovce, Slovakia. Jan and Katerina's ninth son, Stephen Paholsky (my Grandfather) married Mary Serafin May 26, 1934 in Detroit. Mary's parents were Jan and Anna (Baca) Szerafin. Jan was born in Kamenná Poruba, Slovakia on March 7, 1885 and died in Detroit on April 28, 1966. Anna was born in the nearby village, Vechec on July 21, 1894 and died on March 5, 1956 in Detroit. These villages are about 60 miles away from Jan Pacholsky's birthplace, Helcmanovce.
On my Mother's side (Patricia Sponer), my grandfather Melvin Sigmunt Sponer (Mieczyslaw Zygmunt Szpuner) was born in Józefówka, Tomaszowski, Lublin, Poland on March 3, 1908, and emigrated to America in 1919 at the age 14. He died on July 31, 1986 in Detroit. My grandmother Wanda M. (Bronislaura) Sadaj was born on October, 28 1914 in New York City and died on April 6, 2001 in Macomb Township, Michigan. Her father was Stanley Sadaj (Stanislaw Sadowski) was born May 3, 1887 somewhere in Poland and died in August 30, 1953 in Detroit. He married Frances (Franciska Schemanske) May 5, 1913. They emigrated to America that year. Frances was born January 28, 1895 somewhere in Poland and died March 22, 1977 in Detroit.
