Depression, Anxiety, and Addiction
Depression and anxiety are just two common mood conditions which can lead to self-medicating. Self medicating can lead to the use of alcohol and other substances to relieve one's mental distress and the whole cycle can end up producing addiction. The good news is if one can seek treatment to relieve the mood problems, there is a good chance he or she can avoid the more serious problems that come with long-term addiction. Asking for help, however, is not as easy as one might think.
