It is located in Bevaix, Switzerland. Publications We have a strong theoretical background based on many years of experience in SAW research. See the list of our selected publications and two of our best-known papers: Slow acoustic surface waves in solids A two-parameter coupling-of-modes model for shear horizontal type SAW propagation in periodic gratings (Plessky equation)Acoustic loss mechanisms in leaky SAW resonators on lithium tantalate (Outstanding paper award, IEEE UFFC, 2001) Patents Our research activity has resulted in many inventions and a few of them have been patented. See patents co-authored by Victor Plessky. Collaboration We work in close collaboration with young researchers and PhD students of the Materials Physics Laboratory headed by Prof. M. Salomaa at the Helsinki University of Technology in Finland. We also collaborate with scientists and software engineers in the former USSR and world-wide. Our collaboration network allows us to organize manufacturing of our products within minimal delays. Victor Plessky was born in 1952 in Kostukovka, Belorussia. He got his PhD degree at the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute in 1978, a DrSci (Tech) degree at the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics in Moscow in 1987, and a Full Professor degree from the Russian Government in 1995. He has worked as a researcher in several SAW companies, such as Micronas, Thales Microsonics, and SAWCOM. He has also worked as a visiting scientist at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria, and at ETH, Zürich, Switzerland. He frequents the Helsinki University of Technology (HUT), Finland, as a visiting professor. Since 2003, he has been the owner and director of GVR Trade SA in Bevaix, Switzerland. In his spare time, he enjoys growing tomatoes and raspberries in Bevaix, Switzerland. Sanna Härmä was born in 1977 in Kotka, Finland. She got her Master of Science degree at HUT in 2001, majoring in materials physics. She carried out her Master’s Thesis work at Thales Microsonics in Sophia-Antipolis, France, where she continued as a SAW filter designer after her graduation. Later, she has acquired the status of a pedagogically qualified teacher and taught physics and mathematics on high school level in Finland. Currently, she works in the Materials Physics Laboratory at HUT and at GVR Trade, preparing her Doctoral Thesis on the design of SAW filters and tags. Her other interests include sports and the preparation of a university degree in French philology. She currently lives in Espoo, Finland. Johanna Meltaus was born in 1976 in Espoo, Finland. She got her Master of Science degree at HUT in 2000, majoring in materials physics, and in 2001 she received the Master’s Thesis Award of the Finnish Associate of Graduate Engineers. In 2002, she got the Licentiate of Technology degree. She is currently working in the Materials Physics Laboratory at HUT, preparing her Doctoral Thesis on the design of coupled SAW filters. Her other interests include taekwondo, horseback riding, and reading. She currently lives in Espoo, Finland.
