Community Connections for Youth
Community Connections for Youth is a non-profit organization based in New York City, formed with the purpose of equipping community-based organizations to develop alternatives to incarceration for youth. ATI programs, as they are commonly known, give another option to youth who have become involved in the court system by removing them from a prison setting and offering them such services as counseling, mentoring, tutoring, youth leadership training and job readiness training. When these services are located in the communities where young people live and are managed by community leaders, they are considered to be indigenous, grassroots programming.
