With over 25 years under her belt, Joan wood has seen it and, probably retouched it. A Fine arts and advertising major in college, Joan curiously found her niche in retouching after a few stints performing creepy-retoucher-in-training-weirdo-stuff like spotting, bleaching and airbrushing dye transfer prints and film. Still evolving as an artist in her own right, Joan ser her sights on advertising and began freelance retouchnig for some of NYC's biggest, and smallest, agencies. Her work for Revlon, Chanel, Dior and Versace, to name many, have numerously appeared on the covers and pages of every major fashion and news magazine including (plume of smoke escaping from my cigarette holder as I boastfully puff away) vogue, Bazaar, cosmo, Time and Newsweek. Currently you can find Joan at her Chelsea studio hammering away on clients such as M&M's, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Campbell's, Revlon, Gillette and more. Joan Wood has built a reputation as one the foremost digital retouching artists in the country and has a cultish following of young, angry art directors from some of the premiere creative boutiques around.
