Janis Jennings, Ph.D., Jungian Analysis, Dream Groups
Janis Jennings practices Jungian analysis in Santa Barbara. She is a candidate in training at the C. G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles, is a licensed psychotherapist, and has a Ph.D. from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Mythological Studies with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology.
A Jungian approach investigates both the conscious and the unconscious aspects of the psyche. It often involves an exploration of dreams, personal myths, creative work, and religious experiences. The intent is to call forth the innate healing and self-regulating potentials contained in the unconscious, leading to re-integration, greater self-knowledge, and an alignment with the deeper self.
C. G. Jung lived in Switzerland, and developed his ideas during the early- and mid-twentieth centuries. His theories regarding psychological healing have been widely discussed and developed in the years since his death in 1961.
Janis Jennings offers a complementary first consultation to see if a Jungian approach may be right for you. She conducts dream groups in Santa Barbara.
