Karen tooth’s artwork pages show the range of her artistic practise over several years. The ‘Utes in the Paddock’ series include her unusual still life scenes based on Australian rural landscapes with niches; the sensuality and rich colourings in her ‘Floral Artworks’, the questions posed by the ‘Landscapes of the mind’; the humour and characters in ‘Animals and other creatures’, the decorative swirls and harmonious colour schemes in ‘Calligraphy’; and the temptations of ‘Food and Fruit’. The drawing album includes pen or biro work on canvas. The Still Lifes album has a miniature sized series based on perfume bottles. Utes and relics show the artist’s interest in rural Australi and the rusty ‘treasures’’ left behind. A love of water and fish is revealed in the Something Fishy album. The albums of Landscapes and Mindscapes show the external scenery and by contrast the internal ‘scapes’ and ‘escapes’ of the mind.
