ABOUT ME: Ever since I was a kid I have enjoyed taking pictures. Pictures of family, friends, my cars, and especially the family Christmas Tree with all the presents around it on Christmas morning. Then on a visit to Arizona in 2000 I picked up a copy of Arizona Highways and it was then that I began to realize there was a big difference between taking a picture and photographing a subject. So in 2003 I bought my first SLR, packed my truck, and set out for the sunshine, heat, and beautiful landscape of Arizona. Since moving here in 2003 I have taken thousands of photographs, and really with no more intention than having a great photo to hang on the wall. In late 2009 I finally decided to go digital. After going digital I quickly discovered a new passion for photography. I realized that I wanted to do more than use my camera to capture the landscape of Arizona, I wanted to use it to capture the most special moments of ones life...those special moments that will become the memories for a lifetime.
PHILOSOPHY: I believe that a camera is not just for snapping pics, but a tool that can be used in a manner to capture the most special moments of ones life. I believe a photograph should tell a story, it should ignite the imagination, it should capture that special moment that will become the memory of a lifetime.
I prefer to use natural light vs.flash when photographing a subject. Because of this preference my subjects are photographed outside on location, or at their home. I prefer to keep the post processing to a bare minimum, which means other than converting a photo to black and white, I prefer not to enhance or add special effects to the photograph. I want the photograph to be as true as the moment it captures. For me as a photographer, these principles and beliefs are what I feel works best for capturing those prefect moments like a beautiful Arizona sunset, or the excitement and emotion of the new bride and groom at their wedding, or the happiness and love a family shares when they are together, or the confident attitude of a senior who is ready to graduate and take on the world.
GENERAL INFORMATION: James Lancaster Photography is located in beautiful San Tan Valley, Arizona and is available for travel throughout Arizona and the United States.
Basic Wedding Packages start at $850.00. Basic Portrait Packages start at $150.00. or a package can be customized to meet your needs.
All active and retired United States Military Personnel will receive a 10% discount off any package in honor of their service to our country.
