Maple Hill Farms - Midland, Michigan
Maple Hill Farm was established by Leonard Servinski and his wife, Janey, in the 1980's. They began with Morgan horses and eventually switched over to Hackney ponies in 1992. In 2010, they reduced their herd of ponies and moved toward retirement from showing and breeding Hackneys. Len had grown up on a dairy farm and had always thought he might like to have a few registered Hereford cows. The Rod and Trish Steele family of Midland assisted Len in finding some very fine cows, and Janey, having retired from teaching, enjoyed the 4-H sheep that the grandchildren had so much (see their grandson with his reserve grand champion 4-H wether on the opening page) she purchased a few Icelandic sheep from the Lavender Fleece Farm in Midland. Katie Servinski, their daughter, is pictured on our opening page at Lavender Fleece holding Lilly, one of the Icelandic ewe lambs the Servinskis purchased in 2010.
