Transitions Estate Sales - Our Services:Your place or mine?YOUR HOUSE:At a complimentary initial assessment meeting, we will decide together to have an estate sale at your location or at our shop. We will then schedule a "prep date" which is the day we will start working in your home. Our fully-bonded and insured team usually needs a minimum of two full weeks before the sale date, but prefer three weeks. Also at that first meeting, we collaborate with you to determine the sale date. At that point, we will begin advertising, photographing, researching, and pricing items. We reserve the right to sell large items such as appliances, furniture, mattresses, lawn mowers, automobiles, etc. before and after the sale. We also have a network of authorized professionals to call upon in specialized areas. For the actual sale, we provide a cash register, wrapping materials and bags, tables, shelves, lighting, tablecloths, lockable jewelry cases, furniture dollies, advertising in local newspapers and online, flyers, and professional signs.We charge our commission from the gross amount of the sale. In addition, we collect sales tax, pay and report it to the Texas State Comptroller. This is on top of the actual sale amount. We pay all costs out of our commission except for heavy cleaning or trash removal. They are not deducted from the gross amount received at the sale. You will receive your check within 72 hours of the end of the sale with an itemized list of items sold. After the sale, we will leave the home totally empty and broom clean. Any leftover items will be either taken by the family, donated (you will receive a donation slip for tax purposes), or if furniture, unique or valuable items, sold at another sale or venue or consigned to our shop. Extremely large items may require a moving fee. We look forward to working with you.
