James Craig is a Texas-based writer who grew up in one of the vast suburban islands that dot the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. He now lives in Austin with his wife and dachshund. Maddox Murphy
Little Rock, Arkansas artist Amy Laser produces beautiful mixed media presentations coming from the process of making connections between form and symbol, light and dark, and movement and stillness. Through the combined use of organic, veiled, but often-common images and symbols, photography, words, and collage material, she explores both conscious and unconscious sides of human nature and offer tangible responses to this with texture, color, and composition. I approach the work with spontaneity and paint in a room filled with music. Creating art for me has become both my exercise and my meditation. What I take from the work is a harmonious balance of clarity and chaos that inspires me forward.
