Zonta of Jefferson City
The Zonta Club of Jefferson City was formed in 1947 and has been active in efforts to advance the status of women, both locally and internationally. Click on the History link to read more about the history of the Zonta Club of Jefferson City.
This organization of professional women is involved in numerous community service activities throughout the year:
Each month Club members provide care for children at the Jefferson City Rape and Abuse Crisis Service Center to allow their mothers to attend counseling session. Club Members also collect toiletry items when they travel and donate them to RACS. Members of the Club also sign copies of the book You Can Be Free by Ginny NiCarthy and Sue Davidson which every resident of RACS receives as a gift.
The Service Committee identifies items which are needed by area organizations. These items are purchased by members, and the Service Committee collects them at meetings and delivers them to the selected agency. Click on the Service link for a list of organizations which have received donations.
