The Canadian Race Relation Foundation grant allowed us to create the Centre for Equity in Health and Society. As we found evidence of systemic disadvantages for racial and ethnic minorities within the nursing profession, this Centre has advocated on their behalf with the federal government, nursing colleges and nursing professional organizations in Ontario. The clinical evaluation of restorations may be necessary and useful for quality purposes e.g. for the replacement decision of restorations that are placed by dentists in daily practice and – more often – for randomized clinical trials to evaluate restorative materials and/or operative techniques. The evaluation includes 16 clinical and radiographic criteria which are based on aesthetic, functional and biological criteria.
