The middle child of an artistic family, Nicky Woo recieved her B.A. in psychology from Boston College. Realizing her deep passion for the creative couldn't be quenched, she went on to earn a second B.F.A, with a concentration in photgraphy at the San Francisco Art Institute, ultimately pursuing further commercial sustainability at Parsons School of Design. Woo's abiding fascination with the splendor of the human spirit, deeply influences her approach to image making. Her portraiture evokes a quiet sensibility and natural empathy, humbly seeking to exalt the innate beauty of each sitter. Her fashion work is more cinematic in it's explorations. Models are transfigured into characters, steeped in the vastness of space; Both seductive and considered, these images allow the viewer a small window into an interior life. In Nicky Woo's short time as an independent, her clients have included Nike, Levi's, DKNY, Details, Time, Oprah Magazine, Mens Health, Interview, Essence, The Fader, and Time Out. She currently divides her time between Los Angeles and New York.
