Welcome to Navwar's web site. Navwar was started in the early 1970's to provide affordable ship models for wargamers, in scales that were appropriate to wargamers rather than modellers. For most periods this meant a scale of 1/3000 which allowed large scale actions in a reasonable area. In the case of earlier periods, where range is not so important, a scale of 1/1200 scale was chosen, although we now make many sailing ships in both scales.
