India Pakistan Friendship Club (Known as IPFC) is dedicated to the tears shed silently on both sides of the border due to more than 60 years of hostility between India and Pakistan, for one reason or another., Gandhi opposed the creation of Pakistan. Such opposition was based on his conviction that Hindus and Muslims and other communities could live together and make their particular contributions to building a multi-religious, multi-cultural nation with equal rights for all citizens. However, when partition did take place he took positions that have no parallels, historically or contemporaneously., I have never met a Pakistani while living in India, though I claim to be friends with many of them, thanks, to the internet which has brought many of us to interact. Frankly speaking, virtual is virtual; it could never be real even with a webcam or a microphone. Even if I called him friend he was a Pakistani like many others, he was real yet surreal. I always agreed that we have a similar language, a culture with many commonalities; I agreed that we can be friends; we can solve political problems via dialogue. We can be at peace. Still I was like a hypocrite in my heart,, peace activists and political rallies and religious celebrations and historical monuments and gloom and doom and bus train and flight services and society members and well wishers and ails and educat and hopelessness and educational institution and public officials and extremists and news reports and men women and minorities and cafes and spite
