PAWS - Parents Active at Waverly Schools
Parents Active at Waverly Schools PAWS mission is to support the teachers of Waverly Schools in acquiring needed materials and funds to effectively prepare our children to succeed in a rapidly changing, technology driven world.
Our primary goal is to raise enough funds to give all Waverly teachers $200 towards the purchase of classroom supplies. This money is to replace funds that the teachers have received from the school in the past but will not get this year because of budget cuts.
As you probably realize $200 doesnt stretch very far. This is why this is our basic goal. We hope to be able to provide our teachers with all the funds necessary to educate our children. It does seem to be a never ending task, but we cannot expect the teachers to pay for classroom necessities such as printer ink and paper out of their own pockets. We are confident that if we can get the word out, we as a community can meet the needs of our teachers and students.
To achieve our goal, we plan to attend community events, hold fundraisers and participate in programs, such as collecting box tops for education. We hope to make everyone in the community aware of the problems our schools are facing and in the process solve those problems.
