OUR PEACE OF HISTORY
?Life According To Maas Roy?, is the story of a Jamaican man who arrived in England in 1954, enroute to Canada - but ended up drafted into service for her majesty's armed forces. He was sent to the conflict in Cyprus and served along the notorius Murder Mile. The book also documents how Stanley Roy Archer, being the type of strong Black father we rarely hear about, raised his daughter as a single parent in the UK.
Eventually, he returned to his homeland - Jeffrey Town, St Mary in Jamaica, however, with no plans to retire. He ploughed the land and working with the community in a very hands-on capacity, Maas Roy shared his vision of development with his fellow villagers and was able to vastly improve on the basic facilities and infrastructure they'd had to endure since he was a child. The authors are here to make sure ?Our Peace of History?
is recorded for future generations by all, and that every Black boy, girl, man and woman will be encouraged to pursue a promising, healthy and prosperous future keeping in mind how rewarding it can be to serve his or her fellow man.
