Peter Scapegrace
Peter Scapegrace is a multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter residing in southeast Pennsylvania. He began playing guitar while laid up sick at the age of 16, teaching himself rock songs off the radio on his brother's dobro. He began writing his own songs soon after, and by age 19 had composed enough original material to fill a 3-hour set at a local coffee-house for $25 and free coffee.
He was a co-founding member of the countrifunked jazzabilly band The Unpronounceable, with whom he performed and recorded to some regional acclaim north of the Mason-Dixon Line beginning in 1997, under the name Jorgé Beefalo.
Since the band's split in 2008, his work has focused on songs composed on acoustic guitar in an Americana style influenced by artists such as Hank Williams, Jim Croce, Chris Isaak, Uncle Tupelo, Richie Havens, and Wilco.
