"Fluffy Feathers" - Photography by Alan Fear-PhotoBlog: Australian Brush-Turkey, Sometimes called the “Scrub Turkey” (Alectura lathami), these birds might be found in bushland down the entire eastern coastal regions of Australia. The males, in breeding season, have an enlarged yellow neck wattle. Their incubation mounds might be 4m across and 2m high, and are kept at the ideal interior temperature by scratching away, or adding leaf litter to the mound. This one was photographed in a tree in rainforest, west of the Gold Coast.
