PIXELJOURNEY-PhotoBlog: Eastern Black Swallowtail, This is a shot from last summer. The eastern black swallowtail is very plentiful in this region. This one is enjoying hanging out on one of our Stokes Asters. I just got some new plants to put in for this year. One butterfly attracting one is swamp milkweed or the latin name is Asclepias incarnata. These bloom throughout the summer and can attract numerous Monarch butterflies. You can bet I will be out taking tons of pictures of that. I can't wait to see if one stops by. I hope everyone has a great Thursday. Take care!

All ephemera is collaged onto an antique French postcard, that has been painted with watercolor and gouache. A special art paper from Paper Source is mounted over it. The collage is edged with brilliant gold gouache paint, and mounted on a canvas block. The canvas is painted with acrylic.
