Wayne Sharpe Music
Composer and producer Wayne Sharpe has scored a number of films internationally, winning Indias prestigious Filmfare Award for his work in Prakash Jhas Gangaajal and drawing critical acclaim for Jawad Wassals Firedancer, the first film from Afghanistan to get nominated for an Academy Award. His compositions effortlessly combine eastern instrumentations and arrangements with strong, memorable, melodic themes as showcased in his score for Tanuja Chandras Hope and a Little Sugar. Working in the American Independent scene, he composed the scores for Southie, starring Donnie Wahlberg and Amanda Peet, and Pigeonholed with Rosanna Arquette and Chris Noth. His work in commercial music and television will be familiar to anyone who has ever watched NBC Sports, the NYC Marathon, the Olympics or Pokemon. Wayne also composed the theme to Yugioh, the top-rated childrens television series. His songwriting collaborations with Indian pop sensations Sonu Nigam and Jasbir Jassi can be heard in the score of Hope and a Little Sugar and he continues to work with them. Wayne Sharpe lives in the New York metropolitan area and calls Mumbai, India his second home.
