Over 64 million people in the United States alone suffer from the effects of poor arterial and venous circulation.  These conditions include chronic venous insufficiency (with venous stasis ulcers, varicose veins, and swelling), peripheral arterial disease (PAD; with claudication, ulcerations due to ischemia, and amputations), deep vein thrombosis (DVT; that can lead to pulmonary emboli and/or chronic swelling), and restless leg syndrome (RLS).  Not only is there a personal burden of disease but there is a financial one, too.  These conditions are costing the healthcare system billions of dollars.
