Joan Platt Pottery
Joan Platt Pottery is handmade, elegant, functional tableware. It is made with stoneware clay, glazed with non-toxic glaze and fired in a gas kiln to a high temperature. The dinnerware is available in three colors: a white cream sand, deep brown black, and green. The ceramics have simple forms and shapes with undulating lines and floppy edges. Each piece is one of a kind. The tableware includes buffet, dinner, lunch, square, salad, spahetti and butter plates - mugs, cups and saucers - stew, soup, cereal, berry, cafe au lait and dessert bowls - oval, vegetable and bread dishes - octagonal, fish and turkey platters - as well as servers, pitchers, vases, and jardiniers. JMP pottery is designed for the presentation of food and is intended for both home and restaurant use. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. Joan Platt is a potter living in New York City with an artist studio in Palisades. Her work has been featured in Country Living.
