PSI was founded in 1972 as Photo Service to Industry and was one of the first Orange County Production facilities to specialize in providing graphics support to the rapidly-emerging corporate community in Irvine and surrounding areas. At that time we offered a wide variety of graphic services, focusing on corporate communications: photography, typesetting, design, layout, storyboards, paste-up and slide production. Within a few years, slide production developed into multi-image slide shows, including programming, narration and music. Our client list grew to include many companies based in Los Angeles and surrounding counties, as well as national accounts. By the early 1980's we added video production to keep up with the rapidly evolving needs of our customers. We also began staging large business meetings for such clients as Hunt-Wesson, Beckman Laboratories, Kubota Tractor, and Carnation. Art boards and optical printers were soon replaced by computers and film recorders. As corporate communications rapidly evolved, PSI always kept pace. Some highlights along the way: Incorporated in 1981 as Photo Service to Industry, Inc. In 1988, won a Medical Marketing Award for a video production for Terumo Corporation In 1993, one of the first facilities in the area to add digital non-linear editing Won a Silver Telly Award for video introduction of the highly successful LaserJet4 for Hewlett-Packard Most recently we have added CD-ROM production to our list of services. We have produced digital video productions on CD-ROM for such companies as Hitachi and Snyder Langston/Dreamworks SKG.
