Carrie Friedmania - Pregnant Pause
The website of writer Carrie Friedman. CARRIE FRIEDMAN was born in 1977 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where, in the land of all things dairy, she quickly proved lactose intolerant. Carrie danced with the Milwaukee Ballet Company from ages 4 to 14, where she got an early education in competition, eating disorders, and techniques for bandaging feet. She further honed these skills when she quit ballet and ran track and cross country, for which she was recruited by several colleges. Among them, she chose Boston College because it permitted her to run, perform in plays and musicals, and because she loved their English Department and the city. At Boston College, she had one play produced, and wrote two theses - in fiction and poetry - for which she received the Creative Writing Award, The Best Fiction Award, and The Dever Fellowship. During her college summers she studied screenwriting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and print journalism at Boston University. She taught first grade in Boston, then worked in publishing in London before moving to Los Angeles to fetch coffee for people on well-known sitcoms. Eventually, her coffee-fetching paid off and she was promoted to working directly for several Hollywood TV producers, one of whom she married and all of whom provided her, unknowingly, with a wealth of material. Also, Carrie has taken every Novel Writing Workshop offered at UCLA's Writer's Program. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two dogs.
