Bankton Parent Council
The Parent Council is made up of parents and teachers who volunteered to be involved and who meet at least once each term.
The Parent Council represent the views of all parents of the school known as the Parent Forum and will communicate with the Parent Forum keeping them, up to date with what is discussed at the meetings. A newsletter is issued after each meeting and the detailed minutes are available from the school office for anyone who wants a copy.
The Parent Council does have formal objectives detailed below but in essence it is about parents working in partnership with the school and supporting them to provide the best environment possible for the children.
Objectives;
• To work in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all parents
• To promote partnership between the school, its pupils and its parents
• To develop and engage in activities which support the education and welfare of the pupils
• To identify and represent the views of parents on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and welfare of the pupils.
Getting in touch with the Parent Council?
Attending a meeting – Any parent can attend the Parent Council meetings. Dates of future meetings are listed in the newsletters and on the Parent Council notice-board in the main entrance of the school.
