I began working in clay at a young age when my mother (a potter) brought me to artshows and I wanted to sell my creations too. I quickly fell in love with clay, andgraduated as a studio art major from The College Of Wooster in 1993. After graduation Iattended The Columbus College of Art and Design part-time, and earned a MastersDegree in social work from The Ohio State University in 2003.I enjoy sculpting from nature, and have been making cement garden sculptures formany years, using photographs and book illustrations as reference. When I sculpt ananimal, I try to make it realistic, yet unique, as each original piece is crafted with its ownpersonality.I have been employed as an artist for a costume shop and for small companies makinganimatronic haunted house characters and scenery. Most recently I worked for a visualeffects business that created a jungle scene for a water park ride out west.
