Native Records, Inc. is a U.S.-based independent record label, formed in 1997 by industry veterans John W. Smith and Kenneth M. Smith. Its principal place of business is in the Playhouse District of Pasadena, northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California. Native is a company that specializes in Hip-Hop, R&B/Soul, Latin and Reggae, with its newly formed Manatee Music imprint focusing on the eclectic sounds of Fusion Jazz, Dance and Electronic Music. Native also functions as a sub-distributor for smaller yet focused independent labels. Native Records is distributed in the United States, its territories and Canada by Universal Music Groups Fontana Distribution and is associated with foreign companies for international licensing and distribution.
