Remember Robert Yin
Remember Robert Zhongjie Yin, "Robert Celleremus Giger". Graduated Wootton High School, Rockville, MD, Class of 2008. Robert lived his short life with passion. He was a church chorister for 11 years, a violinist and violist in youth orchestras for 11 years, a singer in male a capella groups. He was an athlete, a baseball player, and a runner. Attended Grinnell College, Iowa, Class of 2012. Robert died May 17, 2010 due to brain injuries resulting from pole vaulting May 14th at the NCAA Div. III Midwest Championship held at Illinois College, Jacksonville, Illinois. Catastrophic and fatal injuries due to pole vaulting are preventable. If only college sports authorities, from NCAA to coaches to trainers, paid attention to better pole vault safety risk management.
