Mara Bravo, Architect/Arquitecto (UK/España)
Mara Bravo architect. Currently working in a group partnership
where has been involved in a number of projects
both in the residential and non-domestic sectors.
Most of these projects were located in Spain.
She lives in London since 2005 and is now looking to extend
her experience to the UK market and to get involved in
a local practice.
Her latest project has been a Justice Court building in
the South West of Spain (2006) were the biggest challenge
they faced was finding new approaches to adapt traditional
constructions techniques to the new language of modern
architecture, preserving key values as the environment,
sustainability and client satisfaction.
She is committed to achieve a clear understanding of project
requirements, and producing for clients high quality,
creative and sustainable design solutions that meet these
requirements within the constrains of budget and programme.
Treating projects individually, taking account of the
location, site constraints and specific design requirements
is also essential to succeed in the architectural challenge
of achieving more sustainable and satisfactory buildings that
meet day-to-day more demanding client needs.

Hui Ward, the founder of Om Creation Studio, is a landscape architect certified by the National Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Board and licensed in the state of Oregon and New York. She is a leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional by the U.S.Green Building Council and certified for healing garden design by the Chicago Botanic Garden. Her porfolio over the last decade emcompases international projects in Korea and India and several award-winning domestic projects ranging from public parks and plazas for waterfront browfnfield redevelopments, children's outdoor spaces, healthcare gardens, and academic and corporate campus planning and design. She was elected to serve on the Potomac Chapter ASLA executive committee in 2004 and co-chaired the communication committee in 2003. In addition to teaching at the Univnersity of Michigan, University of Maryland, and ZhongZhou Institute of Tehcnology, she also presented at various conferences including tthe Society of Arts in Healthcare International Conference in Chicago. Her lectures and presentaitons covered a range of subjects from site planning and engineering, landscape eccology and design, public space design, healthcare design, to landscale architecture as adaptation strategies to global climate changes. Coming from an interdisciplinary educational background of Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning into Landscape Architecture, She has been fascinated with applying the inner workings of nature to decentralize and retrofit infrastructure, harmonize architecture with nature, provide site-specific planning and design solutions to challenges faced by communities, cities, watersheds, and our global environment.
