The Vino Life
In general, we are just a couple of guys who love wine and good conversation. Our original intentions were to visit every winery in Lodi in 30 days, chronicling our visits via blog every step of the way. But after a few bottles of wine, a lot of thought, and some encouraging conversations from a few Lodi Vintners, we decided to take the project to another level. We all quickly came to the conclusion that the part about wine we enjoyed the most was the winery experience. We loved the vineyards, the tasting rooms, the interesting conversations, and of course the wine. When you buy a bottle of wine from the store or a glass of wine from a restaurant we feel like you miss out on 90% of what makes that wine special. Yea it may taste wonderful, but how much better is that wine with a great story, a little history, or a memorable conversation attached to it? Those are the things we get from the winery experience. The next thing we agreed on was that wine tasting and wine in general still had (it’s gotten a lot better) an exclusionary stigma to it. We talk to a lot of people who enjoy wine but are a little apprehensive about going wine tasting because of the fear of doing something wrong or not fitting in. We want to show people that wine tasting and wineries aren’t scary and the only thing you can really do wrong is not go. So after putting 2 and 2 together, a few conversations with our favorite vintners, and the purchase of a high definition handy cam, out comes The Vino Life.
