About milesperhour_
Since 1984, milesperhour has produced a body of work directed by filmmaker Matt Herron.
Matt founded and is currently the Vice President, Executive Producer of MTV Networks Creative Services Video Department. He oversees creative development and production of a diverse range of video projects for Corporate Communications, Public Responsibility, Special Events, Ad Sales, Content Distribution and Marketing as well as MTVN's various channels; MTV, VH1, Spike, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, CMT, MTVU & LOGO.In 1999 Matt independently wrote, produced and directed The Mark Morris Dance Group, A Dance Center in Brooklyn, which helped the organization raise six million dollars to build their studios next to The Brooklyn Academy of Music. In 1998 Matt independently wrote, produced and directed various projects for The Sterling Group, which influenced the marketing directions of companies like Nike, TCI Music and Allied Domecq.Matt contributed to the screenplay Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas produced by Universal Studios and Rhino Films, and in 1997 he founded Fish Media, a computer animation company that produced broadcast work for such companies as American Express, NBA, Jaguar, Disney and AT&T. From 1993 to 1995 Matt served as Narrative Director of The New York Exposition for Short Film and Video and in 1993 created SINEMA, a weekly showcase for independent and student filmmakers that took place in popular New York City nightclubs.Matt continues to be an active member of local film festivals and regularly screens his work. Matt was raised in Maine and received his degree from Northeastern University in 1992. During college he produced and directed numerous projects and attended many film festivals. He was considered a pioneer by his professors, peers and community, graduating as Northeastern’s first film major. Matt continues to make 16mm and digital shorts regularly, experimenting with the film medium in his free time.
