National Committee on Levee Safety
The National Committee on Levee Safety is an ongoing working group charged with conducting a study of the United States levee system and recommending a national levee safety program to Congress. The NCLS was established by the Water Resources Development Act of 2007, and its 16 members are experts in levee safety drawn from local, state and federal government agencies, the private sector and Indian Tribes.
