Oral Fluid / Saliva drug screening / testing, as opposed to urine testing, has the advantage compared to urine testing, of being resistant to cheating. Saliva testing has the additional advantage of being easily collected without the privacy problems associated with the use of a lavatory. Saliva testing has the disadvantage that it is less sensitive to marijuana use then is urine testing. Urine and oral fluid testing has a surveillance window of 1-3 days. Hair testing also has the advantage that in the case of disputed results it is easy to collect a new sample for re-testing. However hair testing is unlikely to be positive for marijuana until the tested individual has used marijuana at a rate of about twice a week in the prior 90 days.
